3-Step Process for your Property Tax Protest

STEP 1:

When you first contact Texas Tax Protest, you will receive an email with a link to complete two short agreements via DocuSign. These agreements simply show that we will be taking over your property as the “Agent of Authorization”, as well as outlining the fee structure for our exceptional services.

We send these finalized agreements over to your County Appraisal District so that they know we are representing you and your property (or multiple properties). All you have to do is click to sign these documents and hit the “Submit” button. You will then automatically receive a copy of the signed agreements for your records. The best part is, you only have to sign one time and we will continue to represent your property each tax year.

STEP 2:

The Property Research Phase. Our proprietary software technology applies big data algorithms to millions of data records to help our team assemble a comprehensive protest case for your property.

On top of that, we also send you an “Evidence Survey”, where you can tell us even more details about your property that we can potentially find useful in your property’s case. For example, if you have any damage to your property, an outdated interior or exterior, or even broken appliances, AC units or pool equipment, we would love to know about it, as it might help lower the taxable value on your property. Yes, you can upload pictures too!

STEP 3:

With an in-depth protest case prepared on your behalf, we will present our evidence to your County Appraisal District. Our experience at navigating the bureaucracy of the protest process helps us in negotiating a fair market assessment. Hearings are held during June, July and August of each tax year, and each Texas county typically certifies property values by August 31.

Once your appraisal value is certified, we will email you a copy of your protest results, along with an invoice for our fee. Our fee is based on the savings we achieve for you. If there are no savings, there is no fee. You can expect to receive your protest results by early September.

If you’re looking to protest your property taxes for the 2022 season, please sign up HERE in early 2022 (at least before the May 15 deadline) so that we can represent you and your property!
