Dallas-Fort Worth has landed on the list of top U.S. metro areas for home flippers.

Despite record house prices and a shortage of properties on the market, nationwide home flips are up 23% this year, according to a new study by Realtor.com.

D-FW ranked third behind Columbia, S.C., and Phoenix on Realtor.com’s list of best places to flip a home.

The median profit for a local home flip is $71,383 — up 6.6% from last year, according to the study.

That’s ahead of two-thirds of U.S. metro areas where flip returns are down this year. Nationwide profits are the lowest in more than a decade.
